To maintain the appearance of your carpets between
cleanings, we recommend the following Seven-Step
Spot Removal technique:
- Treat immediately!
- Scoop up bulk or excess residue. (Don't Scrub!)
- To clean, mist the spot with a detergent solution. Use a pint plastic spray bottle with an adjustable nozzle. (1 Tablespoon non-bleach powdered laudry detergent in 1 pint water.)
- Blot with a white absorbent towel. Mist and blot as needed but DO NOT OVERSOAP!!
- To rinse, mist the spot using clean water in a pint plastic spray bottle with adjustable nozzle. Mist and blot as needed.
- Fold towel and place on spot to absorb moisture. After 2 hours brush up pile and/or vacuum.
- If spot/stain does not respond to detergent solution, substitute a
dry cleaning solution (DeSolv It) Generally these are more effective
on grease, tar, gum, crayon, etc. Follow instructions on label.
