Seven-Step Spot Removal Technique
1. Treat immediately! If the spill is liquid, blot up as much as you can with a clean cloth, pressing firmly all around the spill to absorb as much of the liquid as possible.
2. If the spill is more bulky, scoop up any bulk or excess residue with a spoon or a spatula working from the outside of the spill toward the center, but Do Not Scrub!
3. To clean, mist the spot with a detergent solution appropriate to the stain. Use a pint plastic spray bottle with andjustable nozzle. (Mix 1 Tablespoon non-bleach powdered laudry detergent in 1 pint water.)
4. Blot with a white absorbent towel working from the outer edge of the stain to the center.
5. Mist and blot as needed until the spot is removed but Do Not Oversoap!! If the spot or stain does not respond to detergent solution, substitute a dry cleaning solution (DeSolv It). Generally, dry cleaning solutions are more effective on grease, tar, gum, crayon, etc. Test a small area first and then follow the instructions on the label carefully.
6. To rinse, mist the spot using clean water in a pint plastic spray bottle with adjustable nozzle.
7. Fold a towel, an absorbent pad or a clean diaper and place on spot to absorb moisture. Allow the area to dry for 2 hours before brushing up the pile and vacuuming.

Pet Odor Control
Pet accidents can cause urine to soak through the carpet into the backing, carpet padding and even into the under-laying floor creating a “multi-layer” problem. The biggest challenge in getting the pet odor out is to remove the contamination from all of the affected layers. Our unique treatment can work wonders on most pet odors. Let us perform an inspection of your carpet before you consider costly replacement. Under normal lighting conditions urine contamination may not be visible but by using ultraviolet light we can identify the problem areas. We can determine how many layers have been affected and the degree of contamination by using a moisture probe and checking the PH. The problem area will be flooded with a special neutralizer. Using “sub-surface extraction” the contamination is rinsed from all of the affected layers. This pet odor control process is so effective that in most cases we can guarantee complete odor removal from your carpets. This should make most of your family members happy. Only your pet may feel differently.
No matter what your carpet or upholstery care emergency is, Nesheim’s can help you determine your best course of action to fix it. Give us a call at (303) 666-8888.
